The Trading on the NYSE can be done Monday through Friday, between 09:30 hours and 16:00 hours Eastern Standard Time.

NASDAQ trading can also be done at the same time; however, some of the stocks can be traded even after the closing of the official trading time.

The major advantage of this method is that this allows an investor to act in response to stock news published by companies after the trading hours of the day, but the trading volume at such hours is very light and thereby causes the stock prices to sharp fluctuations.
