Brokers
The NYSE is situated on the Wall Street in the New York City.
NASDAQ does not have any physical operating office, but it has an online presence and it is a stock computer network.
The normal individual essentially cannot have direct access to stock exchange.
If they need to trade on the stock exchange, the individual should work through an intermediary, popularly known as the stock broker.
Banks are a typical example of stock exchange brokers; several brokers represent the banks which provide different kinds of services for their customers via the stocks’ securities clerks.
These clerks (also known as the brokers) take the buy and sell orders from the customers (investors) and they execute the orders on behalf of the investor.
Apart from banks being share brokers, there are also private brokers who can help you with stock exchange trading; these private brokers are authorized by the stock exchange authorities to provide stock trading.
It should be noted that both banks and private brokers charge a fee for their stock exchange services.
