A Stock’s Name
Every stock is known by a name.
The name is chosen in a way to be long enough to indicate all the characteristics of the stock.
For instance, the stock of Microsoft is indicated by Microsoft PV $0.025 common stock.
“$” can be confusing, because this does not in reality have any relationship to the stock value.
Putting $ in the PV is a naming convention, however, it is just a part of the proper name used to denote that specific stock, and it is meant absolutely for just accounting needs.
